I hadn't seen Rich in about a year.
He moved down to Austin, TX from the Westchester, NY area the end of last summer and I continued the daily grind
in southern Connecticut. Having heard the numerous wonderful stories about Austin from Rich I knew that a visit to the area was a must . . . and yes, it
was definitely a lot of fun.
Upon arriving Rich and Jodi picked me up at the airport and then promptly paraded me towards burritos and margaritas . . . a very welcome event after four hours of
being cramped in small quarters defined as seats by the airline. While in town I enjoyed beautiful weather, perused through University of Texas at Austin, ate all sorts
of awesome BBQ at the Salt Lick, shoveled down a "monster" freebird Burrito, played disc golf, saw a concert at "The Pier," canoed on Town Lake, drank on Sixth street, and flat out had a great relaxing
time while visiting Rich and Jodi. I must say that I very much enjoyed the very different but very awesome "live music capital of the world" . . . and not having to shave (what the hell, it was a vacation
weekend).
To Rich & Jodi -
Thanks for the laughs, drinks, food, and good conversation. In an insane world, you guys add some sanity...especially when living in that insanity of the northeast (for now). That is all. Enjoy, be happy, laugh, and definitely have fun.
